British Heart Foundation ride

A gorgeous sunny morning for a 50-mile epic ride around the MK bridle paths, redways, gravel tracks and then into the woods. The first 20 miles were fast flowing and pretty flat, throwing me into a false sense of security. Easy ride, 50 miles will be over before I know it! I spoke to early…. up Church Hill we went meeting up with the road riders. Sooo thankful for my low gearing! A quick water stop at the top and an exchange of experiences on making it to the top whilst still breathing.

Splitting away from the roadies and onto the red route we battled on, up and down the hill over and over again. The miles were no longer ticking over so quickly. At one point I thought my Garmin had stopped working! Emerging from the woods at the 35 mile mark it was homeward bound. The legs were beginning to complain but the sun was shining and the adrenaline was pumping as we picked up some speed again. We arrived back to Willen Lake to the crowds enjoying the atmosphere, collected our medals and felt great to be part of a brilliant fund raising event!
